With the foaling season almost over, the Kunigal Stud Farm’s leading stallion Burden of Proof has 56 foals on ground. Burden of Proof (Fairy King) has been an outstanding success, having sired several Derby winners. As such, Burden of Proof got greater patronage than ever before and continues to enjoy the pride of place. Brave Act is the other active stallion currently standing at the stud farm. The stud farm has over the last few years upgrading its mare by imported well bred pregnant mares.

Aboline (Burden of Proof) was the best of the horses which raced during the last one year. Aboline had the distinction of being the Horse of the Year Jacqueline in the Gr1 Kingfisher Bangalore Derby. Jacqueline went on to set a new record in Indian racing by four Indian Classics including the Gr 1 Indian Derby. After a couple of listless performances, Aboline bounced back to nose out Dancing Dynamite to win the Gr 1 Maj P K Mehra Super Mile at Mumbai against some top quality milers in the country.

Fleet Indian (Tejano) was another top horse to emerge from the stud farm. Fleet Indian won the Gr 1 Poonawalla Mysore Derby and then went on to win the Gr 2 Golconda 2000 Guineas.

Celestial Way (Orpen) also brought glory to the stud farm by winning the Gr 2 Golconda 1000 Guineas at Hyderabad. Sans Eagle (Burden of Proof) who won the Calcutta Oaks was another noteworthy produce of the stud farm.
