The Kunigal Stud Farm bred Celestial Way won the Gr 2 Golconda 1000 Guineas at Hyderabad on Sunday, November 22 in splendid fashion. The daughter of Orpen, Celestial Way had the measure of Messalina quite comfortably and had it not been for the jockey Chris Hayes easing up the horse in the closing stages of the race, Celestial Way would well have bettered the course record which she missed by fractions.

Celestial Way is out of Just Heavens Gate (Slip Anchor). Unfortunately, the mare died soon after Celestial Way was born. Though she was on orphan foal, Celestial Way has matured gradually into a top notch performer. By her splendid performance, Celestial Way goes into the Indian 1000 Guineas as a frontline contender.
