Fleeting Arrow lands Gr 1 race

The Kunigal Stud Farm bred Fleeting Arrow provided his sire Burden of Proof yet another Gr 1 success on Sunday (June 22). Fleeting Arrow staved off a stiff challenge from Archipenko to maintain his run of wins in Bangalore. Fleeting Arrow has recorded five wins in a row. He already has a group race success, having won the Gr 2 Bangalore Juvenile Million in March.

Fleeting Arrow’s success in the Gr 1 Colts Trial Stakes was in keeping with his reputation as the best three-year old stationed in Bangalore. Fleeting Arrow is owned by Ramanjula Reddy who incidentally owned Fantabulous King who went on to win the Gr 1 Kingfisher Derby albeit in the colours of Dr Vijay Mallya. Fleeting Arrow was guided by jockey K P G Appu who got the son of Burden of Proof stretch out to contain the challenge of Archipenko (China Visit).

Fleeting Arrow is one of the frontline contenders for the forthcoming Kingfisher Derby to be held on July 13.

Fleeting Arrow’s sire Burden of Proof already has a winner in the Derby, Fantabulous King getting him that honour in his first year as a stallion in India.

Fleeting Arrow is by Sabre Dance (Bold Russian) who herself is a classic winner, having won the Gr 3 Calcutta Oaks. The earlier two progeny of Sabre Dance namely Peace Prize and Scimitar have also been winners. The second dam Dancing Dissident (Everyday II) won two races at 3 and 5 and placed third in the Calcutta Oaks.
