Stayers Cup, being led in by Arjun Sajnani, J S Dhariwal & Zeyn Mirza

The Kunigal Stud Farm emerged as the Leading Stud Farm at the conclusion of the Bangalore Winter Races on Saturday. The produce of the stud farm recorded 26 wins. The Kunigal Stud Farm has been winning the championship of the winter season consistently for the last two years.

The produce of the stud farm did extremely well for the race owners who had put faith in the stud farm. Of the 26 wins recorded, 20 of them came for different owners while six were recorded by those retained to race under URBB. It may be recalled that Burden of Proof had sired two Derby winners in his first season through Fantabulous King and Full Speed which were not retained horses.

Burden of Proof (Fairy King) showed his versatility and his progeny did exceedingly well from sprints to a mile. Woman On Top was the champion sprinter of Bangalore while its new stallion Brave Act (Persian Bold) had his first Grade I race winner through Arabian Knight who won the Stayers Cup at Hyderabad.

With the induction of new mares procured from abroad, the performance of the stud farm is expected to get a qualitative boost.
