The Kunigal Stud Farm bred horses were in the limelight in races held at Bangalore on Saturday, May 30. The horses bred at the farm won the first six of the eight races scheduled for the day. Already horses like Captivating and Aboline have captivated the race goers with their brilliant performances and they are being hailed as front liners for the forthcoming fillies and colts classics. Aboline is the highest rated three-year old in Bangalore.
The Kunigal Stud Farm boasts of an amazing line of broodmares which are undoubtedly the pride of the stud farm. All the six winners of the day were all impressive winners. Importantly, their dams are top class. Six Shooter made a winning debut in a three-year old maiden race and he is the son of Burden of Proof out of multi-classic winning mare Six Speed. Six Speed won the Poonawalla Breeders’ Multi-Million besides the Gr 1 Fillies Trial Stakes and Gr 1 Indian 1000 Guineas. She was unfortunate to lose by a whisker in the Gr 1 Kingfisher Bangalore Derby. Six Speed is one of the most versatile horses of her generation.
Arabian Prince was another who made a winning debut. She is the daughter of Derby winning Arabian Rose and she is a full brother to Arabian Knight who won a host of Graded races including the Gr 1 President of India Gold Cup and Gr 1 Stayers Cup. Coorg Honey who was a runaway winner is by South India Oaks winning mare Traffic Police. Chintz was another horse to be in the limelight and her dam was dual Derby winning Littleover.
Aboline, who has established as the best three-year old in Bangalore, is also well bred. His dam Super Fan is highly rated and has to her credit, the distinction of foaling some Group winners abroad before her stint in Kunigal.
