Adolfito resumes winning ways
- Sharan Kumar

One of the proud sons of Tejano, Adolfito showed that he has not lost his zest for racing when winning the Racing Patrons Trophy on Friday (March 17) at the BTC Race Course Seven-year old Adolfito came good, easily accounting for the opposition which consisted of younger, well-performed horses.

Adolfito who has an excellent record on the sand based track of Hyderabad, having won the Gr 1 President of India Gold Cup two-years ago, relished the underfoot conditions in Bangalore, after a brief stint at Kolkata and won the race end to end, over a mile and a quarter trip, without coming under pressure.

Incidentally, the progeny of Tejano were to the fore, with another daughter of Tejano, Cascabel winning a mile long race in brilliant fashion. Tejano (Caro) has been one of the leading stallions at the Kunigal Stud Farm though of late he hasn’t been patronized much, with the limelight taken by Burden of Proof and Brave Act. Tajano sired many a graded race winner, the best of his produce being Astrologica, winner of the Gr 1 Golconda Derby and Adolfito..
