| Caprese won a sprint race at Mysore during August in
splendid fashion and though trainer Jaggy Dhariwal and
the connections had the inkling of what to expect from
her, they persisted racing her over a mile where her
speed was blunted and she did not live up to
expectations. At the beginning of This year will see the first crop of Brave Act in
action. 29 two-year olds from the first crop of Brave
Act will soon reach the respective trainers. Brave Act
has had the distinction of siring a Group race winner
at Canada from his first crop. Frequent Flyer who is
from his first crop, has won the Gr 3 Natalma Stakes
at Woodbine and there are two black-type performers
from that first crop. Burden of Proof has 21
representatives while Tejano (5) and Serious Spender
(2) will form the core juveniles from the Kunigal Stud
Farm. Of the 57 two-year olds, 21 have been retained
to be trained by Jaggy Dhariwal and Pesi Shroff while
the remaining ones have been sold to various owners.
Turf baron Dr M A M Ramaswamy has brought seven top
juveniles.
Brave Act has aroused great expectations. Brave Act
(Persian Bold) is a winner of 13 races and he has a
sentimental value to the stud farm as another of
Persian Bold namely Bold Russian, sired India’s
greatest horse Saddle Up.
