Rising Fame wins Karnataka Trophy

Kunigal Stud Farm bred Rising Fame won the Karnataka Trophy, a rich terms for three-year olds bred in Karnataka on Saturday (March 18).

The three-year old gelding Rising Fame is by Burden of Proof out of multi-classic winning mare Scaglietti. The winner is owned by turf baron Dr M A M Ramaswamy and trained by S Ganapathy.

Rising Fame was second demand as the son of Glory of Dancer was backed to the exclusion of his rivals. Though Rising Fame was sluggish at the start, he covered ground swiftly and had the first run on his rival. The leeway gained at the top of the straight stood Rising Fame in good stead and though the favourite devoured ground in the closing stages of the race, the son of Burden of Proof lasted out to win seven furlong race, in a thrilling finish.
